LAAC elects officers, approves licenses and schedules next meeting

At the Jan. 22 LAAC meeting in Ridgeland, the committee unanimously approved October 2024 minutes, approved a roster of landscape architect certificates issued since October 2024, elected Alan Hoops as chair and Martha Hill as secretary, and set April 3, 2025 as the next meeting date at Mississippi State University.
During its Jan. 22 meeting in Ridgeland, the Mississippi Landscape Architecture Advisory Committee approved routine administrative actions and elected officers.
Mr. Mercier moved and Mr. Hoops seconded approval of the October 2024 meeting minutes; the motion passed unanimously. Ms. Hill moved and Mr. Gallo seconded a motion to approve certificates issued since the October 2024 meeting; that motion also passed unanimously. The minutes include an attached list of certificates (license numbers, names, dates and method of issuance). Key entries on the list include, among others, license 792 for David M. Abadie (11/12/2024, reciprocity), license 643 for Connor L. Ball (12/13/2024, reinstatement), and license 796 for Brandon H. Booher (1/10/2025, reciprocity).
Ms. Snipes moved and Mr. Mercier seconded a motion to elect Mr. Hoops as Chair and Ms. Hill as Secretary; the motion passed unanimously. The committee affirmed April 3, 2025 as the date of its next meeting at Mississippi State University. The meeting adjourned by unanimous consent at 2:22 PM.
