At the June 22 Grain Valley Board of Aldermen meeting, resident Chet Piotrowski used the public-comment period to raise two infrastructure concerns and to congratulate Mayor Bob Headley on his election.
Piotrowski asked the mayor and the community development team to inspect curbs on his street for needed repairs and urged Tri-County to examine a water tank on Minter Road that he said appeared dirty and possibly had mold. Alderman Kyle Sole asked Piotrowski for clarification on the tank concern; the minutes do not record a staff response or further action during that meeting.
In staff reports, Community Development Director Patrick Martin recapped a June 18 public works event that drew approximately 300 attendees, served over 60 pizzas and showcased public-works activities; organizers plan to host the event again next year for its 20th anniversary. Alderman Ryan Skinner asked for an update on the north-side water tower; the board was told work is expected to begin mid to late July. Mayor Bob Headley also recognized City Administrator Ken Murphy for 20 years of service.
The minutes do not record any formal board action on the curb repairs or the water-tank concern; Community Development/Public Works were asked to follow up after the meeting.
