Drummond council approves minutes and claims, notes $24,706.04 in delinquent taxes and sewer fees

At the Oct. 15 meeting, Mayor Gail Leeper asked the council to approve prior meeting minutes and claims. Council Member Stuart moved to approve the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 budget hearing minutes and the Sept. 17 regular meeting minutes; Council Member Clute seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Council Member Clute later moved to approve the Sept. 24 public hearing minutes related to CBDG grant funding; Council Member Stuart seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The council also voted to approve claims (motion by Council Member O'Dell; second by Council Member Clute).
The council received investment and financial summary sheets. The clerk reported that a sewer certificate of deposit is set to mature and will be closed and re-opened to secure a higher interest rate. Local Government Services accepted the Fiscal Year 2023 Agreed Upon Procedures (AUP).
Town Clerk Robin Wight reported the town is owed $24,706.04 in delinquent taxes and sewer fees, broken down as: General Fund $7,191.84; Street Light District $1,283.52; Sewer Fees $16,230.68. Public Works Director Harrington said crews are preparing equipment for snow plowing and will reinstall 'No Parking' signage for Oct.–May. The council set its next meeting for Nov. 19, 2024, and adjourned at 7:52 p.m.
