Drummond council reinvests sewer CD, endorses Xylem service agreement drafting

The Drummond Town Council unanimously approved a motion Feb. 18 to close a sewer Certificate of Deposit that matures Feb. 28, 2025 and re‑open it with accumulated interest into a four‑month Certificate of Deposit at a higher annual percentage yield. Council Member Clute moved the action and Council Member McLure seconded; Mayor Gail Leeper concurred.
On operational contracts, the council directed Attorney McGill to draft a Service Maintenance Agreement with Xylem and send the draft to Xylem for review once it is complete. Council members noted that a memorandum of understanding (MOU) had been discussed but that an executed service agreement is more appropriate for ongoing maintenance (MOUs are better suited to in‑kind arrangements such as the town’s agreement with Great Divide Septic).
Council also reviewed financial sheets and directed staff to research legal steps for lien placement on delinquent properties; consideration of delinquent tax letters and lien placement with Granite County is scheduled for the April agenda. All motions at the meeting passed unanimously among present council members.
