The Town of Drummond Town Council on Sept. 17, 2024, unanimously approved Resolution No. 2024-16 to adopt the final operating budget and set appropriation authority for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2024, and ending June 30, 2025. Mayor Gail Leeper called the public hearing to order at 7:00 p.m., opened a public comment period and recorded that no members of the public spoke about the proposed budget before she closed the hearing at 7:07 p.m.
At the start of the regular meeting, Mayor Leeper asked the council to waive the reading of the resolution text; Council Member O'Dell moved to do so and Council Member Clute seconded. Council Member Stuart then moved to approve Resolution No. 2024-16; the motion passed with "all yeas" and no opposition. Present for the vote were Mayor Gail Leeper and Council Members McLure, Clute, O'Dell and Stuart.
Clerk/Treasurer Robin Wight provided the financial materials and the council received the FY23 Agreed-Upon Procedures review from Denning, Downey & Associates for its records. During the meeting Council Member O'Dell asked for clarification about how certain invoices are split among funds and was invited to review claim details at Town Hall for further clarification. The council also approved claims in a unanimous vote.
The council closed the meeting after receiving routine reports and several operational updates from Mayor Leeper and staff. The next regular Town Council meeting is scheduled for Oct. 15, 2024.
