Robinson said Civic Chain currently has no Maine clients and cannot interface with the town’s TRIO accounting system, but can work with Harris’s Smart Fusion, the parent company’s platform. She raised questions about the security of residents’ private information and said she will arrange for Civic Chain to make a presentation to the board at the second meeting in August.
The presentation is intended to allow board members to question the vendor about data security, interoperability with existing systems, and any costs or operational impacts after the promotional period. No formal decision or contract action was taken at the June 9 meeting.
