Town Manager reports record Lobster Festival dinner sales; budget clarifications and public questions raised

Town Manager Sara J. Liscomb told the Winter Harbor Selectmen on Aug. 11 that the town’s Lobster Festival and associated events were successful and that dinner sales were the highest in the town’s history. She also announced she passed her certification test and is now a Certified Clerk of Maine.
The board discussed budget presentation details. Sandy Fortin asked that amounts borrowed from the investment account be listed separately in budget documents, requested that sinking funds be increased, and asked budget committee members to provide required information to staff.
During public comment, J. Jacobs asked whether capital improvement plans are in place. Selectman S. Ribble suggested sending letters to Planning Board members who are not attending meetings as a way to encourage participation.
Other items noted for the record included a Historical Society letter and a request by the chairman for 'No parking' signs in front of Brookside Cemetery. The meeting adjourned at 7:16 p.m.
