The Winter Harbor Selectmen voted Aug. 11 to authorize repairs to the town’s floats and a dock after the dock was damaged, and reviewed routine financial reports, including account balances and tax receivables.
The board approved Warrant #6 dated Aug. 5, 2025 and Warrant #7 dated Aug. 7, 2025 and accepted the Treasurer’s Report dated Aug. 7, 2025. The town operating balance was reported as $613,251.14; a six‑month certificate of deposit at $105,382.87 was noted, and investment account market values were listed at $3,499,504.31 (5/31/2025) and $3,522,980.90 (6/30/2025). The Tax Collector’s Report, dated Aug. 7, 2025, showed taxes receivable of $30,730.02 for FY25 (98.75% collected) and $5,610.55 for FY24 (99.74% collected).
Selectmen addressed harbor infrastructure after a report that the dock had been struck and needed repair. The minutes record that the floats require added flotation to support required loads; the town manager will order flotation materials and DC Air will pick them up. M. Young is expected to perform the repairs and build two ladders. "Motion made to have M. Young fix the floats, the dock and add ladders" was recorded and the motion was approved 3-0.
Other routine items on the agenda included signing the return of warrant for the County Commissioner and approval of the Tax Collector’s Report. No individual movers or seconders for the votes were recorded in the minutes.
