Town of Drummond appoints Mike O'Dell to fill roads council seat

The Town of Drummond Council unanimously appointed Mike O'Dell to the vacant council seat for roads at its July 16 meeting.
Mayor Gail Leeper read O'Dell's letter of interest in full and explained the seat will be an appointment through December 31, 2025; O'Dell will be eligible to run at the next election for the subsequent term. The council cited the importance of filling the seat quickly so a full council can participate in upcoming decisions on the Wastewater Treatment Facility Upgrade Project.
The council also accepted the earlier June 18 resignation letter from Ray Powell by unanimous vote.
The next regular council meeting is scheduled for Aug. 20, 2024.
