Michael Galla, identified in the record as Comcast’s director of government and community affairs, said the project is part of an MBI residential retrofit and that crews need two days total to finish wiring at the housing-authority property. Galla said both traffic lanes would remain open under a MassDOT-approved traffic-management plan and that crews could schedule the work on weekdays to limit impacts.
Board members discussed prior concerns about similar work on Route 151 and asked the company to avoid Fridays and rush hours. Town staff recommended Tuesday–Wednesday work windows; board members agreed to limit the activity to two days between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., with the exact dates to be coordinated with the town manager. The motion to approve the reconsideration with those conditions passed by voice vote.
Galla said Comcast would coordinate with town staff and provide schedule details once the MassDOT permit is confirmed. The board asked the company to provide a contact number for direct coordination; Comcast indicated staff contact information is available to the town.
