The Northwest Arctic Borough Assembly on Aug. 26 approved Resolution 25-41 to authorize the issuance of Public Finance Authority revenue bonds on behalf of Maniilaq Association in an aggregate par amount not to exceed $550,000,000.
Legal Counsel Matt Mead summarized the resolution and recommended that the Assembly adopt the authorization. BAF Chair Reid Magdanz moved to approve the resolution; the Assembly carried the motion unanimously by roll call.
The resolution authorizes the Borough to take the administrative step of issuing revenue bonds through the Public Finance Authority for Maniilaq Association up to the stated maximum par amount. Legal counsel described the item as a clarification for the record and recommended passage.
Assembly members did not identify specific uses of the proceeds during the meeting; staff materials and the resolution text will provide further detail outside the public minutes. The resolution passed without recorded opposition and will appear in the Borough’s adopted resolutions for 2025.
