Krotz Springs appoints two maintenance supervisors; police resignation accepted

The Town of Krotz Springs Board of Aldermen on June 9 appointed two maintenance supervisors and accepted a police department resignation.
Following an executive session called at 6:33 p.m., the board approved the appointment of Tabitha Mires as Maintenance Supervisor on a motion by Cindy Stelly, seconded by Larry Martinez; the appointment includes a six-month probationary period and passed by roll call (YEAS: Craig Burghdoff, Larry Martinez, Cindy Stelly, Nyssa Godwin, Keith Ardoin). The board also appointed James Ellis as Maintenance Supervisor on a motion by Keith Ardoin, seconded by Nyssa Godwin; that motion likewise passed by roll call with unanimous YEAS and included a six-month probationary period.
Separately, on a motion by Nyssa Godwin, seconded by Craig Burghdoff, the board accepted the resignation of Police Department employee Dillon Porche effective May 29, 2026; the motion carried by unanimous vote.
Chief Susie Snyder briefly addressed the board and said "all is good in town," remarks the board noted as part of routine department updates. The appointments and resignation were recorded in the official minutes and the board adjourned later in the evening.
