Krotz Springs approves demolition resolution and VA cooperative agreement; routine items passed unanimously

The Town of Krotz Springs Board of Aldermen on May 12, 2026 unanimously adopted an amendment to a previously adopted demolition resolution, approved a Cooperative Agreement with "Veteran’s Affairs," and handled routine consent business, according to the certified minutes.

A motion by Alderman Keith Ardoin, seconded by Alderman Nyssa Godwin, adopted the amended resolution adding language that the town "has obtained permission from the landowners" to demolish listed properties; the motion carried by unanimous vote. The minutes reference the amended resolution as from Nov. 11, 2026; that year is after the May 12 meeting date and appears to be a clerical error in the minutes. The minutes do not list the properties targeted for demolition.

The board also approved a Cooperative Agreement with Veteran’s Affairs on a motion by Alderman Cindy Stelly, seconded by Alderman Keith Ardoin; the motion carried unanimously. The minutes record the title "Cooperative Agreement with Veteran’s Affairs" but do not specify the agreement terms or the partner agency's full official name.

Chief Susie Snyder reported that conditions in town were ‘‘all is good,’’ that she contacted Derek Cox about lighting issues, and that the police department had experienced rainwater intrusion. Mayor Carroll B. Snyder said Derek Cox will work on park issues. The minutes note the Maintenance Supervisor was absent.

Other routine actions included approval of the April 14, 2026 minutes, authorization to pay outstanding bills, and approval of financial statements and reconciliation worksheets; all were carried by unanimous votes. No members of the public spoke during the public-comment portion of the meeting. Announcements included a District F meeting on June 16 at Carencro Community Center, Second Harvest on May 19–20, and a Memorial Day program on May 25 at 1 p.m. The meeting was adjourned by unanimous vote.
