Road grant work delayed after contractor hit water line, board told

At the July 6 meeting a council member updated the board on road-grant work, reporting that contractors began installing drainage tile last Monday but ran into an 811 locating problem and struck a water line, which stopped work for approximately two days (about 48 hours). After obtaining new 811 locates the contractor resumed work and the project is a few days behind schedule.
The council member also noted a related landowner notification and a license agreement: "Dave Sales has produced a license agreement that says we were supposed to notify them like, 45 days ahead of time," and the member said he had spoken with Mr. Sales and that the landowner was satisfied the project would not extend further north and that no hay crop was parked on the work area.
Board members did not take formal action at the meeting but requested continued updates on progress and any additional utility repairs needed after the water-line strike.
