Planning staff updated the commission on multiple development milestones and near-term permit activity.
Carlos Trejo said Lot 3 at Olive Crossing — which includes Paris Baguette and The Brass Tap — is fully completed and open, and that the businesses are performing strongly. Staff reported the Irvington Place Apartments have more than 40 units already rented and praised the sidewalk improvements that better connect the Northeast quadrant to the rest of the city.
Staff also said Ricks Ace Hardware submitted interior finish plans and will likely return to the commission for approval of an outdoor storage area; Mercy has engaged staff about plans for the former U.S. Bank site at 9321 Hollow Boulevard and expects to submit permitting materials by the summer with potential administrative activity by mid‑2027. Staff asked to cancel the June 4 meeting due to a lack of pending permits; commissioners agreed.
Commissioners discussed an awning submission for Paris Baguette and the appearance of outdoor umbrellas at the Brass Tap patio; staff said such elements will come through the commission process. Brian Lewis, city council liaison, later added that local ribbon cuttings and Chamber awards highlighted strong business interest in the area.
