Selectmen approve town officer appointments and sign a draft bond bank application for police building

The Sandwich Board of Selectmen unanimously approved its annual slate of town officer appointments at the April 20 meeting and authorized submission of a draft bond bank application for the police building.
Joanne Haight moved to approve the appointments, which named Ted Call as Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director; Kelly Cox as 911 Liaison; Jason Hall as Deputy Emergency Management Director; Jim Mykland as Fire Warden; Caroline Nesbitt as Welfare Officer; Catherine Graham as Welfare Administrator and Deputy Treasurer; Bob Butcher as Treasurer; Courtney Delaney as Town Administrator; Ty Bryant as Road Agent; Karl Koch as Police Chief; Christine Woodman as Health Officer; and Vachon Clukay & Company as auditors. The motion passed unanimously.
Town Administrator Courtney Delaney presented a draft New Hampshire Municipal Bond Bank application for the police building. The application initially requested $475,000 but may be reduced before a July bond issue; the Board discussed loan terms and agreed to seek a 10-year term with level principal. Ms. Nesbitt moved to authorize Ms. Haight to sign the bond bank application; the motion passed unanimously. Delaney also reported an abutter notice had been sent to police-station abutters about a proposed controlled burn used as a multi-town training exercise, with the Fire Chief working on logistics for a planned burn in early May.
The Board also approved timber intent-to-cut forms, gravel tax warrants for specified lots, a raffle permit for the Sandwich Woman's Club Artisans on the Green, signed AP and payroll manifests, and approved signing a landfill inspection report for the Transfer Station. Minutes for April 1 and April 6, 2026 were also approved.
