Board waives first readings on several policies, clarifies remote participation rules

Several board members requested a clearer packet next time that separates mandatory legislative changes from local policy options.
The board also discussed virtual participation and were advised that remote attendance does not count toward a quorum and virtual voters may be limited to observation unless a state-declared emergency is in effect. The board voted to waive first readings and approved the requested policy changes and rescinded an obsolete student code of conduct policy replaced by a regulation.
Board members asked that policy-committee summaries and referenced regulations be distributed earlier to give members more time to review lengthy materials prior to meetings.
