Pamlico County Board approves construction contracts for new school and baseball field

The board approved a set of contracts related to the baseball field: a Whitehurst fence contract for $138,734, a field installation contract with Carolina Greens Corporation (quote included in the meeting packet), and VASE Lighting & Design for field lights at $349,470. Board members confirmed those contracts had been reviewed by district legal staff.
For the new school itself, the board approved a Terracon third‑party inspection agreement (roughly $164,000 as discussed in the packet) to provide geotechnical and construction observation services. Each contract was moved, seconded and approved by voice/hand raise.
Prescott said the approvals mark steady progress toward completing the new school and baseball field components; board members noted bids had been received and contract oversight would continue.
