Board approves budget amendment to provide 4% raise after state funding increase
Summary
Following publication of the state budget, the board approved an amendment that increases the compensation supplement and funds a 4% raise for all school employees, adds funds for special education and at-risk tutoring, and sets aside about $60,000 for an ROTC startup.
Dr. Stanley presented an amendment to the FY 2026–27 operating budget after the state enacted a final budget that increased revenues and included a 4% raise for school employees.
"We are now able to give everybody a 4% raise," Dr. Stanley said, noting that the district’s original plan had budgeted 3% for teachers and 2% for administrators. He said the majority of the additional state funds will cover the raise; other allocations include additional special-education and at-risk tutoring funds and approximately $60,000 for a planned ROTC startup.
The amendment received a motion, a second and was approved by voice vote. Dr. Stanley told the board new contracts reflecting the increased raise would be issued the following day.
Board members thanked staff for the update and welcomed the prompt contract work; the board also heard operational updates about Brookville High School construction, upcoming RFPs for legal services and other administrative items.
