An administrator said "today is day 1 of testing for an elementary school and middle school" and walked the board through the schedule for grades 3–8 (math and reading), end‑of‑course examinations, and retest opportunities. The presenter explained that Read to Achieve (Grade 3) provides multiple pathways to demonstrate proficiency—state assessment dates include May 20 and June 17, with a fall administration available—and that in‑class assessments and Lexile benchmarks may exempt students from certain state tests.
Staff also described the district’s plans for WIDA, pre‑ACT and ACT administrations at the high school level and said some science assessment results will not be released to districts until later in the summer; other preliminary results (EOG/RTA) will be available once the state finalizes official results. Recording and teacher resources related to the tests will be made available to staff promptly after classroom administrations finish, the presenter said.
Board members had no objections; administrators noted they will check the state releases and report back if preliminary results change after state verification.
