Doctor Lewis said postcards are being mailed to district households to solicit feedback and that the district expects to cover “85 to 90%” of households; he described an estimated mail bill of roughly $1,750. On the substance of the proposed bond, one member raised concern about wording on the postcards that described an addition as "addition of flex space for classroom use and activities with wrestling, cheer, dance, etcetera," arguing the description could revive past community objections over calling a gym a multipurpose center. “I would just set a wrestling room, instead of classroom use,” the member said, adding that the space will be a wrestling room most of the time.
Board members discussed options: call for an $11.9 million bond in August as a ceiling and, if voter feedback suggests splitting projects, present split ballot options later. Doctor Lewis said the board can call for an election in August without finalizing the ballot detail but asked for more public feedback before deciding whether to split the package. He said the first round of survey responses (about 180) generally leaned 3–5 on a 1–5 support scale, with most higher than the midpoint.
The board requested continued outreach and clarity on project labels and said it will revisit the call for an election, ballot language and any possible split at the August meeting after more survey results are in.
