Shelburne conservation commission to meet twice monthly to tackle Town Plan review
Summary
Following a mapping delay from CCRPC and concern about removal of maps from the Town Plan draft, the commission agreed to increase meeting frequency to complete focused review and set goals for plan comments.
Chair Chandler Noyes told the commission that the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission has not yet completed the mapping work for Shelburne and said he is concerned certain maps are slated for removal from the draft Town Plan. He said he will request clarification from CCRPC on which maps may be removed and the rationale for doing so.
Commissioner Jon Cocina suggested the SNRCC identify its top goals for the Town Plan and set concrete objectives. To devote more time to the review, the commission agreed to meet twice monthly starting in August (second and fourth Wednesdays). For the August 12 meeting, each commissioner will review relevant chapters and provide their top three goals.
The commission did not take a formal vote on Town Plan policy at the July 8 meeting; the decision was procedural to increase staffing of review meetings and to compile member goals.
