CareVet staff say open house planned Aug. 8; commission raises no objections

"It'll be August 8 from 11AM to 2PM," Thornberry said, and added he intended to submit the special activities permit after the meeting. Commissioners confirmed that the event would not close streets, asked whether the hospital owned an adjacent building referenced in questions, and were told a neighboring building is occupied by a blood‑work laboratory and that the hospital operation will be branded CareVet Webster Service Animal Hospital.
Staff and commissioners indicated they had no concerns with the parked‑lot open house and advised Thornberry on the permit‑submission process. Thornberry said he would formally submit the permit following the meeting.
No commission vote was required; staff noted that, if a permit is received, county or city review may be needed depending on specifics but that, as described, the event is contained on private property.
