Tunica adopts brush policy, approves website migration and $10,000 River Gate sponsorship

At its March 3 meeting the Tunica Board of Aldermen approved a range of community- and communications-focused items including adoption of a brush policy, authorization to transition the Town website, and a $10,000 sponsorship for the River Gate Festival.
Alderman Lee B. Turner moved to adopt the Town—s brush policy as presented (the draft modeled after Hernando—s policy); Alderman Adam Fullilove seconded the motion and the Board voted unanimously to adopt the policy. The adopted policy is included in the minutes as Appendix C.
Ms. Withers, reporting for Tunica Main Street, said a mahjong fundraiser held on Sunday raised an estimated $4,000 and announced the spring shopping social on March 19, 2026; Tunica Main Street also seeks to use the River Gate Festival to promote potential economic development. The Board approved a $10,000 sponsorship for River Gate to benefit Tunica Main Street and authorized Mayor Andrew Dulaney and Clerk Kate Scott Pennock to sign the payment check.
The Board also authorized transitioning the Town—s website to a CivicPlus platform because the current platform will no longer be supported; the minutes project the cost will be less than $5,000 and authorize the Mayor and/or Town Clerk to sign and deliver the agreement.
With no further business, the Board adjourned. The minutes record signatures from Mayor Andrew T. Dulaney and Town Clerk Kate Scott Pennock.
