Tunica board authorizes bids for north waterline and paving projects after MSDH sign-off

The Town of Tunica’s Board on Feb. 17 authorized publication of notices to bidders for two infrastructure projects: the North Waterline replacement and a paving project. The board voted unanimously (of aldermen present) to proceed with bid advertising after officials said the waterline plans and specifications had received required approval from the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH).
Alderman Valerie Hartsfield moved that a notice to bidders be published for the north waterline project; Alderman Adam Fullilove seconded and the motion passed by the unanimous affirmative vote of those present. The minutes note that MSDH approval of the plans and specifications had been outstanding previously but was obtained before the motion.
On the paving project, Alderman Adam Fullilove moved and Alderman Daniel M. Pierce seconded a motion authorizing publication of the required notice; the motion also passed unanimously of those present. The minutes record that Andy Richardson has the plans and specifications finalized for the paving project. The board briefly discussed a related lift station project but took no action on that item.
The meeting record lists the North Waterline Project notice as Appendix B and the paving notice as Appendix C; the minutes do not record bid timelines, engineer estimates or funding sources for the projects.
