City staff reported several administrative and financial items to the council, including that no bids were received for the city’s auditing services and that business licenses scheduled to expire Dec. 31 were extended to Jan. 31, 2026 to allow businesses to submit 2025 gross receipts.
A staff member (speaker 7) said the deadline for auditing-services bids had passed with “we received none,” and that they planned to follow up with other municipalities and consult with Deborah (a consultant) and Julia (the city treasurer) about next steps. Staff indicated that a typical audit engagement would have auditors on-site in March or April.
A different staff member (speaker 2) reported having submitted two municipal division summary reports for the year and presented a total figure for clients and costs of $187,910.78. Committee members discussed reporting ratios that must be sent to the presiding judge and noted the JST report is due each September; staff said the city is not currently near the percentage thresholds of concern.
What happens next: staff will continue outreach for audit proposals, work with the treasurer and consultant on procurement options, and carry forward the extended business-license deadline to allow timely receipts reporting.
