Commissioner Helm reiterated budget concerns and described transit planning he’d discussed at a recent forum. He said planners have announced a scheduled five‑week, southbound I‑5 closure at the Rose Quarter starting Sept. 11 and urged county staff to coordinate public information and mapping platforms so residents can plan for diverted traffic.
No formal budget actions were taken at the meeting; the remarks were presented as direction for staff and as topics for further work during the budget process.
