The De Pere Board of Public Works on July 13 approved a contract with Waterworld Solutions to perform a required 15-year inspection of the Merrill Street emergency well station.
Eric introduced the item and said the city contracted with Robert E. Lee to compile a scope and solicitation; three qualified contractors returned bids and Waterworld Solutions was the lowest bidder and met the scope. "This is a required 15 year inspection on the wells ... Waterworld Solutions was the lowest and they meet all the requirements set forth by Robert E. Lee and for our expectations," Eric said.
Staff noted the expense is well under the budgeted $150,000 for the project, but Scott warned the initial bid covers the inspection—any repairs discovered after pulling pumps or casing would be additional and paid from the same account or by separate appropriation. The board approved the award by voice vote after a motion by Alderperson Hansen and a second; the motion carried.
The approval authorizes the contractor to proceed with the pull-and-inspect scope; the board did not at the meeting commit funds beyond the bid amount for any unforeseen repairs.
