Brian Wood said the town and county partners plan to host cohorts at Prince George’s County Police District 3 and the Salvation Army site; staff reported 19 youth had already signed up, with a planned cohort size of roughly 25. Wood thanked county partners, the chief and program volunteers who completed fingerprinting and other onboarding steps.
Council members asked about transportation and age ranges; Chief Frishkorn said parents will be responsible for transporting children and that the program had reached a range of participants up to age 18 at prior kickoff events. The council expressed support, noting the program offers an alternative activity and expected positive youth engagement.
