Public works staff advance right‑of‑way packages for widening and bridge projects

Staff also reviewed driveway and property‑use distinctions on Partial 6 of the Willow Creek replacement project, saying two parcels on the west side have property‑use agreements so the county does not need to acquire land there. For a parcel on the south side of the bridge, staff said existing deeds do not cover the canal or driveway approaches and that negotiations or compensation may be necessary to remove an access approach.
On the Sand Creek bridge investigation (Partial 5), staff said a previously lost right‑of‑way contract was being reissued and that the county expects to have all parcels under right‑of‑way agreements soon. “We should have two more parcels on Sand Creek owned by the same people; the right‑of‑way office contacted them last week,” the staff member said.
Funding for the bridge work, staff said, will come from bridge grant programs and include a local match of about 20 percent; a forthcoming state‑local agreement will fix the final award amount. “After I sign the document that we’ve got all the right‑of‑way done, then they can send the state‑local agreement to us,” the staff member said.
The staff presentation concluded with a plan to advertise the bridge packages for bid and coordinate construction timing so multiple bridge repairs can proceed together. The meeting did not record a formal vote on the documents; staff said they will proceed with preparing agreements and the bid process.
