The Select Board spent time reviewing proposed inspection types and associated fees and asked staff to clarify what will trigger each inspection. Town Manager Jessica Cyr proposed producing a checklist that lays out which properties require inspections and what is expected of the business owner; she said improved communication will help compliance.
Fire Chief Randy Flynn and staff member Chris will coordinate with Robin in the permitting office to notify businesses about the new processes and fees. Select Board member Kathy-Jean Lavoie also noted that a Land Use Change Tax would be triggered if a property currently in current use is developed, and the board discussed how that tax could affect property owners.
Separately, Chief Flynn said he spoke with the person doing work at the Lancaster Motel and advised that person to secure the required permit. The minutes do not record enforcement action or penalties; staff will follow up through the permitting process.
