Kensington board appoints part-time officer and approves a slate of routine permits and exemptions

The board approved PA-42 forms allowing 13 properties to be assessed as residential within the commercial district (motion by Ian O’Reilly; second Tom Balabon; unanimous). The board also approved an elderly exemption for Map 4 Lot 23 (motion by Ian O’Reilly; second Tom Balabon; unanimous), an additional trash cart for 285 N. Haverhill Road (motion by Ian O’Reilly; second Tom Balabon; unanimous), and a solar exemption for Map 12 Lot 45 A2 (motion by Tom Balabon; second Ian O’Reilly; unanimous).
The board reviewed bills, payroll and mail and approved prior meeting minutes from April 20, 2026 (unanimous). The April 21, 2026 minutes were approved as adjusted (motion by Tom Balabon, seconded by Sara Hamilton); Tom Balabon and Sara Hamilton voted in favor and Ian O’Reilly abstained.
The board discussed Sawyer Park event contact information after reports of damage during weekend tournaments and set meeting dates for June and July. The meeting adjourned at 9:58 p.m.
