The Hope-Page Public School District 85 Extracurricular Committee on Jan. 30 agreed on a standardized process for distributing and tracking coach and advisor contracts and reviewed near-term equipment and participation needs.
Cindy Hiam, committee member, recorded the committee's adoption of a spreadsheet layout to list dates, people, levels, coaches/advisors, coop status and who received contracts. The spreadsheet is intended to be shared between the district's athletic directors (ADs) and the business manager so contracts are issued and returned within two-week windows: fall and winter contracts issued May 1 and due May 15, and spring contracts issued Oct. 1 and due Oct. 15.
Brandon Benth, committee member, reported that baseball will order more uniforms and equipment to meet increased roster numbers. Benth said softball purchases are being deferred until next year pending confirmation; he will double-check softball needs. The committee recorded participation counts for track and cross-country at about 25 boys and 25 girls.
The committee did not take a formal vote; the actions recorded were procedural directions to use the spreadsheet workflow and for staff to follow the stated issue/return windows. No dollar amounts or vendor decisions were specified at the meeting.
Next steps: athletic directors and the business manager will use the spreadsheet for the current contract cycle, and Benth will confirm softball equipment timing for the coming year.
