Hope-Page extracurricular committee reviews open coaching positions, student engagement plan

The Hope-Page Public School District 85 Extracurricular Committee met May 29 at Hope-Page High School and reviewed open coaching positions for the 2026–27 season, a student engagement initiative with co-op partners and a five-year facilities plan.

Brandon Benth, committee member, updated the committee on open positions for the 2026–27 season and said the openings will be posted after the district’s co-op committee meeting. The minutes record no formal motion or vote on the posting timeline.

Committee members discussed developing a student engagement program in partnership with co-op organizations to better connect elementary and high school athletes. The committee reviewed social media and broader communications goals and directed a follow-up review with athletic directors and district administration to establish effective procedures.

The committee also reviewed a five-year facilities plan; the minutes state that facilities goals and planned work were shared with the finance, building and grounds, and personnel committees for coordination.

Members discussed revisiting the handbook’s onboarding and evaluation procedures for coaches. The minutes indicate administration will work with outgoing and incoming athletic directors to manage the transition and apply the handbook process.
