The Kensington Recreation and Social Committee reviewed plans May 12 for Old Home Day and other community events, confirming a pancake breakfast, outreach to the fire and police departments, and vendor and entertainment requests.
Donna Carter reported she has sent requests to musical groups and emailed the fire and police departments to coordinate support for the event. The minutes record that a pancake breakfast has been confirmed for the morning of Old Home Day and that Lili Spinosa reached out to Rosencrantz about demonstrating equipment.
Committee members also discussed ancillary attractions: flyers for the 2026 fishing trip have been printed and will be taken to KES for distribution. Jessica Minghella will explore hiring an ice cream truck for Old Home Day, and Lili Spinosa is looking into bouncy houses and will follow up with Rosencrantz.
The committee recorded action items for logistics and outreach and set the next meeting for Thursday, June 18, 2026.
