The commission later entered executive session to discuss land acquisition and closed it before taking the purchase-agreement vote.
After approving the purchase agreement, commissioners voted unanimously on a separate motion (moved by Commissioner Pohlkamp and seconded by Commissioner Geray) to seek quotes to install an 8-foot fence around the newly acquired site. The meeting record indicates funds for the purchase will come from a Bank of ND loan and will be reimbursed.
The commission did not record opposing votes on either action. The item will return to the commission with contractor quotes and any required next steps; the board's next regular meeting is scheduled for March 16, 2026 at the Main Community Center.
