Dunkirk board approves $3,000–$3,500 contract for pit inspections

The Village of Dunkirk Board of Public Affairs voted 2-0 on Aug. 26, 2024 to hire ERI to inspect pits across the village at a cost estimated between $3,000 and $3,500.
The superintendent told the board ERI is using a pole-mounted camera to view pits and recommended contracting the company to perform inspections townwide. President Pam Halsey moved for the contract and board member Drake seconded; the motion passed with Halsey and Drake voting in favor and Barnett absent.
The board did not record further conditions or a contract start date at the meeting. The fiscal officer included the contractor on the monthly bill list presented later in the session. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Sept. 9, 2024.
