At the July 14 meeting the Manning County Commission cleared several routine items.
Indigent services staff Chantelle Laulu presented case #220260024, a $1,500 cremation assistance application for an 81‑year‑old Bennett County resident; the applicant agreed to a $25/month repayment plan and staff determined the application met Idaho code eligibility. A commissioner moved to approve case 220260024 and the board voted aye.
Nada Hyman, Bennett County assessor, requested approval of a letter of cancellation for a property in Old Town that has been torn down and is unoccupied; commissioners approved the assessor’s recommendation by motion and voice vote.
Matthew Phillips, HR and risk director, presented two quotes for special‑event insurance required by concert contracts: $840 for the Aug. 21 concert and $1,410 for Aug. 26; the commission approved purchasing those policies. The board also approved lease agreements for loaders (5% interest) and directed staff to obtain signatures so the equipment can be used.
Finally, the chair moved to enter executive session under Idaho code provisions for preliminary negotiations and attorney‑client communications; commissioners prepared to transition to a closed session.
