Montrose County commissioners reviewed a set of operational and procurement items at the May 5 work session and instructed staff to tidy agenda language and return with final contract documents for formal action.
Staff explained a proposed extension of the Granicus LLC agreement for agenda and live‑meeting streaming with an estimated purchase order of $25,184.13. Commissioners discussed remote participation alternatives for West End residents and asked that remote‑participation requirements be included in any future solicitation for meeting software.
IT staff (Matt) described a proposed sole‑source purchase of 99 Dell computers for the county’s 2025 PC refresh cycle (estimated $118,632.54) through the state NASPO contract and a renewal of the Ultimate Kronos Group (UKG) agreement for time and attendance, payroll and benefits at an annual cost of $133,946.88 (first‑year 5% increase noted, then fixed for two years). The board did not finalize purchases at the work session and asked that final contract language and sole‑source justifications be provided at the regular meeting.
Public Works requested adjustments and approvals for several items: a corrected purchase price for a 2026 Trail King trailer ($125,044), repairs to an asphalt paver ($64,652.95) and a motor grader ($35,318.75), and authorization to sign the construction contract for the 2025 paint‑striping project with Stripes A Lot Inc. of Montrose for $299,864.41. Staff described the repairs as more cost‑effective than replacement and characterized the striping work as the annual county program that will include the West End this year.
Most items were slated for consent or for formal action at the upcoming regular meeting after staff cleaned up verbiage and confirmed paperwork.
