The Montrose County Board of Health met in executive session on April 21 to review applications for the county public health director position. Interim county attorney Julie Andress told the record the session was held "pursuant to CRS 24-6-402(4)(f)(I)" to discuss personnel matters and that "no decisions will be made in this meeting, and the meeting will be recorded."
Commissioner Scott Majaris reported publicly after the executive session that 13 people applied for the position, 3 met the minimum requirements, and one of those three was the current interim public health director. The board said it has the applicants’ resumes in its possession and will meet again to consider and make a decision.
The interim public health director will continue performing the duties of the office until the board makes a selection. The session’s recording will be retained consistent with open-records procedures, and the board gave no public indication of a selected finalist or a timeline for a hiring vote.
