Parks department reports improvements; council approves overtime/comp time for July 4 staffing

Parks staff updated the council on recent maintenance work and minor capital repairs and asked the council to ratify a concert date change.
Parks reported that new asphalt was laid on the basketball courts and that crews are installing pole anchors for basketball goals. Fencing work at Crawford’s and a scheduled rubber roof replacement for the caboose were noted; a contractor is making new railing ends for public access. Parks staff also reported that the splashpad bucket was returned to service.
A council member moved to ratify rescheduling the PCP concert to Aug. 7, 2026; the motion passed on roll call. Separately, the council approved a motion to grant parks employees either compensatory time or overtime for additional hours worked during the July 4 holiday weekend.
"I got the bucket going at Splashpad today," a parks staff member said during the report. Council thanked parks staff and recognized other departments that supported July 4 activities.
