Barrington board approves consent agenda, awards 2026 road contract and OKs pedestrian upgrades; warrants total $1.99 million

At its July 13 meeting the Village of Barrington Board approved a multi-item consent agenda and a warrants list totaling $1,999,889.82.
The consent agenda—approved by omnibus vote—included: (a) receipt and placement on file of the annual comprehensive financial report (ACFR) and single audit for the fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2025; (b) an ordinance authorizing an award of contract to Brothers Asphalt Paving Inc. for the village’s 2026 road program; (c) an ordinance approving an intergovernmental agreement with Barrington Community Unit School District 220 to relocate and enhance a pedestrian traffic control device on Main Street at Barrington High School; and (d) an ordinance approving a license agreement for property at 505 West Northwestern Highway.
Staff noted the ACFR documents financial activity through Dec. 31, 2025 and that the full audit packet is roughly 206 pages; a shorter, popular annual financial report will be posted on the village website when available. “For those that have the stamina to read all 206 pages, it will be out and available on the website,” staff said.
The board also reviewed and approved the warrants list for July 13, 2026—$1,999,889.82 in expenditures and payroll across all funds. The motions to set and approve the consent agenda and the warrants list passed on recorded roll-call votes among trustees present.
Trustees used the comments period to thank public works and other departments for their work on July 4 events and for the efforts that contributed to the ISAWWA award. No public comments were submitted during the meeting. The board set its next meeting for July 27, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. and adjourned at 7:42 p.m.
