The Board reviewed proposed updates to Chapter 3 of the municipal code related to animals and nuisances on April 21. Cindy Welsh presented suggested language changes to the Barking and Offensive Dogs provision and Impoundment section.
On second reading the Board approved changes to remove the word “frightening” from the Barking and Offensive Dogs section and to delete the phrase “within the village” under Impoundment Section G. Trustee Ruble moved and Trustee Peterson seconded approval of the edits; the roll-call vote was unanimous. The Board scheduled the third reading of Ordinance 2026-3 for a subsequent meeting.
Minutes record the procedural edits and the vote but do not include the full revised ordinance text in the public minutes; staff will place the ordinance on the next agenda for third reading.
