Ceresco chooses two-plan approach for street work after reviewing Elm Street costs

Trustee Burklund described extra patching and base work that increased Elm Street project costs, noting $17,000 in patching and additional rock and overages for the co-op parking area. The Board discussed adding two 1st Street segments and portions of 2nd Street to the One & Six Year Street Plan.
Multiple motions followed. An initial motion to do 2nd Street (Beech–Spruce) for $28,400 was made and later rescinded. After further discussion the Board approved a two-plan approach: Plan A would redo 2nd Street between Elm and Pine for an even $58,000; Plan B would perform Beech–Spruce on 2nd Street for $28,400 and also complete two 1st Street overlays ($14,000 and $18,000). The Plan B option was conditioned on attorney approval and amending the One & Six Year Street Plan if needed. The motion adopting Plan A/Plan B (with attorney sign-off requirements) carried unanimously.
The Board did not finalize funding sources during the meeting and instructed staff to consult the village accountant and attorney as needed before contracting work.
