Ceresco board adopts zoning amendments tightening accessory building and height rules

The Village of Ceresco Board of Trustees voted unanimously April 21 to adopt Ordinance No. 2026-1, a set of amendments to the village zoning ordinance that remove Sections 5.05.03.15 and 7.16 and revise subsection 4.13.02 relating to accessory buildings and amend sections 5.07.05 and 5.08.05 governing height and lot requirements.
Trustee Ruble moved approval on third reading and Trustee Johnson seconded. The Clerk called the roll and the motion carried with five ayes and no nays. Chair Scott Peterson then instructed the Clerk to publish Ordinance No. 2026-1 in the manner required by law within 15 days.
The ordinance’s stated changes affect accessory uses and dimensional standards in the Zoning Ordinance adopted previously as Ordinance No. 2020-2. The Board did not record additional detailed amendments in the meeting minutes beyond the sections and subsections referenced; the Clerk will include the ordinance text with the required publication.
Because the ordinance passed on its third reading, it takes effect according to the village’s standard publication and effective-date procedures following adoption. The Board did not attach conditions or amendments to the adoption motion.
Peterson said the Clerk would complete publication; no further immediate action was required at the meeting.
