Beaverdam Board of Appeals grants two variances for front-yard accessory garages

The Town of Beaverdam Board of Appeals on Dec. 13 approved two variances allowing homeowners to place accessory garages in front of their houses, voting unanimously on both appeals.
Chairman Howard Bohl opened a public hearing on an appeal by Andris Magurs seeking permission to build an accessory garage in front of the house at W8628 Lake George Terrace (parcel 004-1214-2812-000). Magurs was not in attendance. Land Use Administrator Dan Prunuske spoke in favor of the construction and no members of the public spoke against the request. A motion by Board member Alan Mannel, seconded by Board member Jesse Hankes, to grant the appeal carried on a unanimous voice vote of the four members present.
The board then opened a public hearing on an appeal by Donna Schauer to allow an accessory garage in front of the house at N8490 S. Sunset Point Road (parcel 004-1214-2022-002). Dan Prunuske again spoke in favor and no opposition was recorded. A motion by Board member Sue Rechek, seconded by Alan Mannel, to grant the appeal passed on a unanimous voice vote.
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.; members present were Chairman Howard Bohl, Sue Rechek, Alan Mannel and Jesse Hankes, with Liz Kern listed as absent. The board voted to adjourn at 7:09 p.m. The meeting record is signed as "Respectfully submitted, Aimee Mallon, secretary."
