Beaverdam Board of Appeals approves Jon Freund’s request to separate two substandard Airport Road lots

The Town of Beaverdam Board of Appeals voted unanimously Sept. 3 to approve an appeal by property owner Jon Freund to separate two adjoining substandard lots at N7082 Airport Road.
Jon Freund, the appellant, told the board he purchased the parcels about a year and a half ago and plans to build a single-family home on parcel 004-1114-0532-009. Freund said he does not anticipate problems with setbacks or the house fitting the character of the neighborhood, and described the proposed house as about 1,800 square feet and two stories.
Land Use Administrator Dan Prunuske provided staff context, saying the two lots were created roughly 50 years ago and are smaller than current lot-size standards. "The lots were created about 50 years ago and are smaller than today's standards," Prunuske said, explaining why the board was being asked to consider the appeal.
No members of the public spoke in opposition during the hearing. Chairman Howard Bohl opened the public hearing after approving the board’s July 23 meeting minutes.
Board member Al Mannel moved to approve Freund’s appeal to separate the two substandard lots (parcels 004-1114-0532-008 and 004-1114-0532-009); Liz Kern seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. The board then voted unanimously on a motion to adjourn. The minutes list the adjournment motion as moved by Isaac Dornfeld and seconded by Al Mannel.
The meeting minutes record the public hearing as closed at 7:10 p.m. and also record an adjournment motion time of 7:07 p.m.; the minutes contain those inconsistent timestamps. The minutes were signed "Respectfully submitted, Aimee Mallon, Secretary."
