The Beaverdam Board of Appeals unanimously approved Michael J. Kaiser’s appeal to allow a second driveway at N8257 N. McKinley Beach Road during a May 21 meeting, the board recorded.
Chairman Howard Bohl opened the public hearing after the board approved its March 19 minutes. Land Use Administrator Dan Prunuske explained that Kaiser had built a garage and needed an appeal because the existing driveway configuration and the house made the permitted access unusual, prompting the request for a second driveway to accommodate the new garage. Michael J. Kaiser said he completed the garage and was seeking the driveway variance to align with that work.
Neighbor Bruce Rhode spoke in support, saying the path in question “has been using it as lake access since 2012,” which the board accepted as local-use context for the appeal. No one spoke in opposition before Chairman Bohl closed the hearing.
A motion to approve the appeal (Mannel/Dornfeld) carried unanimously. The minutes do not record individual roll-call votes but state the motion passed without dissent.
The board did not specify further conditions in the minutes; Dan Prunuske, as Land Use Administrator, is the staff contact listed in the record for permitting follow-up.
