Beaufort County staff demos PropertyMax and MyBufordCounty tools for taxpayers

Beaufort County staff used the post-auction program to walk attendees through digital services for property owners. Deputy Assessor Milton Boswell demonstrated PropertyMax, the assessor's online search tool, showing how to search by owner name, parcel ID, legal description and street address and how to view value history, sales disclosures and GIS maps.
"Searching by owner name is the default search method," Milton Boswell explained while showing the PropertyMax interface and the tabs that display appraisal values, parcel details and sale records.
Treasurer Maria Walls later demonstrated the MyBufordCounty portal and app for tax account management and e-billing, noting that users can store payment information, receive receipts in a wallet and use eCheck without additional fees. She provided the county's customer-service phone number and the treasurer's website for taxpayers who need help.
Assessor Ebony Sanders also outlined assessor-office resources and said the office maintains two satellite locations in Bluffton and Hilton Head in addition to the main campus, and that the office plans additional training videos for PropertyMax.
The offices encouraged citizens to use online forms for legal residency applications and other property-related filings and to call county numbers for assistance.
