The University City City Council voted July 13 to adopt amended Bill 95-83, an ordinance setting compensation for city officials and employees that takes effect July 13, 2026.
Councilmember McMahon moved for passage of the ordinance as amended and Councilmember Fuller seconded; after a voice vote to accept amendments the council proceeded to second and third readings and conducted a roll-call vote. The clerk recorded votes of "Aye" from Councilmember Teaman, Councilmember McMahon, Councilmember Brenner, Councilmember Fuller, Councilmember Smotherson, Councilmember Dancy and Mayor Crowe. The bill passed.
The ordinance was described in the council packet as fixing compensation for city officials and employees and repealing ordinance number 7384. City staff presented the amendments to the version introduced at the prior meeting; the human-resources director summarized those changes in the packet and during the meeting.
Council members offered no substantive debate on the council floor during the readings. The ordinance will be filed in the office of the city clerk and take effect as stated in the text (from and after 07/13/2026).
The council moved on to new business following the adoption. No public comment on the ordinance was recorded during the meeting.
